HOMESCHOOLERS...any one

Not all schools are like this. I, too, have a problem with that educational philosophy. I have seen it in small classes as well as large, and I have seen large classes (45 2nd & 3rd graders; 63 students the following year) that met each child's individual needs very well. It largely depends on the particular teacher and his/her educational philosophy and skills. I would have added experience, except that one of my kids' very memorable teachers was a 1st year teacher. She was memorable as being one of the best of the best. (There are a few who are memorable in quite the opposite way.)

Any parent needs to be proactive and involved in their child's education, and willing to step in and demand changes if their child's needs are not being met.

I don't think that either homeschoolers or public school students should be sterrotyped. There are wonderful public school systems and bad homeschoolers.

We homeschool because it works best for our family and that is the only reason.
