We have barn cats too, but we have 4 house cats, 2 are 10 years one is 8 and another is under a year. The barn cats are also double coated, but I don't see them much since its always dark when I go do chores
we did have an indoor cat for the longest time. Hubby got him in 98 and in 2013 we had to put him down due to him forgetting how to use a litter box and becoming evil.

I want to get a cat but DD is slated to move back home to help take care of DW. She starts her third segment of radiation next week. Anyhow DD has Norma Jean and she'll be coming too. I can't wait. There is something about having a cat in the house.

Will lift you up in prayer for an easy adjustment into your job, as well as ease of management of everything on the home front. I know I'm torn. Love the income, and enjoy my job, but every day I'm scheduled to work, I head out the door with the thought: I wish I was staying home today!"
Thankyou so much. Some days I think, "why did I take this job" but DD is getting married and we need the money. I do like it most of the time, though I"m dreading the 8 hr. day coming up. Usually it's only 5.5 hrs and in the evenings. DD's come and stay with DW while I'm at work. 22 hrs a week is about all I can take. DW has appointments days so it works out.

Spring is coming and so are the seed catalogs. I can't wait to get started.

Take care and thank you again. We sure do need the help.

anybody do vertical gardening, like for cucumbers and those sort of plants?

I do. I trellis cukes, beans and tomatoes on T posts and cattle panels. The cukes and beans will interweave the CP by themselves where the tomatoes I just weave them in and out the squares as they grow. That way none need tying and the plant and veggies growing thereon are easily reached and examined.

That's the main reason why I put a CP fence up around the garden. That's for plants to grow on. Then there's deer netting outside that to keep the chickens out. My favorite and easiest trellis is an old metal A frame swing set. I have 2 and will be scouting out a couple more this season. I also like using conduit. It makes a very neat trellis. Due to my bony soil, I have to attach some A frame legs made of 2 x 4 to it to keep it from toppling with the heavy crop load.

is your vertical or at a slant for the cucumbers? i dont have cattle pannels but i am hoping to send them up onto the wire that is like 1"x2". It is just scrap but i don't see the point in buying a bunch of wire just for a small garden. the peas pretty much need a trellis right? Or can they stand by themselves? Sorry for all the questions, but I have a blueprint in my mind that I would love to put into action this year for my garden.
