We don't have an AC or furnace so we save a lot of money. I mean if you use your common sense and have your Windows open at night you don't need an AC. And don't leave your Windows open during the day

LOL it depends on your climate, you're drier and cool off at night... In the summer at lot of times it's 70-80f and 85% humidity by me at 10pm... no breeze either... at dawn it might be 60-70f and 100% humidity..I found the window fan uses $5 more electricity a month than my small window ac that cycles off and takes out the humidity.... the central air will run up the bill $200 easy

We've got the same thing at night. Most nights it stays up above 75F and we live right by a creek so the humidity is always high

I'm not sure common sense has anything to do with that! Lol. I live in the bottom corner of Missouri and it does not cool off at night, I've slept with the windows open at night and no AC and it was miserable, laying there sweating with no blanket and no clothes. So no thanks, I'll flip on the AC before bed

Yeah it does have to deal with common sense. So many people leave there Windows open during the day. You also have to think about any breeze

I've tried the "leave the windows and blinds shut during the day and open the window at night" thing, and even turned on a fan, before because my AC was broken.
Common sense didn't make it any cooler in the room.
Not where I live.
Your profile says you're in North Dakota, so I think that may have a little something to do with it staying cool at night.
It's hot and sticky where I'm at, 24/7 during the summer. Not many ways around it

Honestly we are always 80+ degrees and 80+ humidity most days. If there's a storm with cold front we will open the windows during tthe day
