I'm probably going to get a pair of homing pigeons. There are a couple things I want to know:

1. Can I keep them in a rabbit hutch?
2. What do I feed them? I've heard of people just giving them bird seed with sunflower seeds, but at the show I just got back from, all the pigeons and doves had the same kind of food: Some kind of seeds with berries mixed in.
3. I'm not going to train them to be racers, and I want them to be pets used for showing. Should I build kind of a large 'chicken run' off the side where they can stretch their wings?

Thanks in advance!

Pigeons do best on specialty pigeon feed which your feed dealer can obtain for you. A rabbit hutch can be used for a short period of time, but as you have already surmised they do prefer a larger space where they can spread their wings. An aviary attached to a small coop would be great for them.

A rabbit hutch may be too small if you want to show them. They may need space to stay show type.
