Honey

I drizzle it over my plain yogurt. Which may negate the benefit of it being plain...

Ridgerunner, those sound like some good eats!

I also have read recently how good honey and cinnamon mixed together are good for you. Lots of different benefits for your health.

Yes local RAW honey os good for allergies. You need to make sure it's RAW honey... which it sounds like yours is. just know that I can go to the store and buy honey labled local but it really came from about 100 miles away and it's not raw...

Ooooh! Lots of good things! It has wonderful antibacterial qualities and is a great humecetant. I have a saying that I live by; don't put anything on you that you wouldn't put in you. Google it for an ingredient in facials and minor first aid - you will be AMAZED. One of my favorie uses is to cover garlic cloves to make them more palatable. Just separate and peel a head of garlic and cover in honey. Let them sit about 10 days and then eat one clove per day raw. Google the health benefits of raw garlic, too. Amazing, I tell you...

I use local raw honey as well. My neighbor has 2 hives, and my husband has been all 'voodooed' into wanting bees now too!

I drink tea a lot with it, but I also can/preserve and I use the honey in some of my jellies rather then sugar. I also bake w/ honey... I make biscotti, shortbread and cakes with it. I even bake bread and instead of sugar, I use honey. If you do whole wheat bread honey helps soften it up some so its not such a heavy loaf!

The honey at the stores by us have labels with farm of origin and city.

Ex. "Clover Bud Farm Glennie, MI" or "Beetrice's Farm Kalkaska, MI" so we know exactly where the local honey is coming from. We also get honey from farmer's markets, the cider mill, DH's friend's wife's chocolate store and the local meat market.
