Hello!
We're a small urban, family farm near Tampa, Florida mostly focused on waterfowl and a few breeds of chickens. Our geese include Sebastopol & Embden geese, and Oregon Miniatures are currently being added. We also added Call Ducks this year.
My name is Katt and I'm the granny on the farm. I'm a genetic genealogist with a pretty solid understanding of genetic science and I'm currently studying the genetics of the Sebastopol goose phenotype (the genes responsible for physical appearance). I would like to network with other folk who are interested in this. I've noticed a lot of confusion on the subject and I may be able to help, or.. maybe you can help me. At this time, my study focus is 100% on this subject, so that I can implement a viable Sebastopol breeding program next year. Could use a study buddy to help countersink the various combos of the genes and their effects on phenotype, if anyone's interested. I do hope to be ready to move on to chicken genetics this coming winter.
Thanks much!
