hoop house question

I'm building a hoop house and wondering if there is a reason all the ones I see have the cattle panels attached to the wood base on the outside rather than the inside? Is it just easier or is there a reason to do it that way? I think it would be sturdier done on the inside and look better too but am a little leary of doing it that way when all the ones I see are on the outside. I'm afraid I'm missing something.

I believe it is because the cattle panels are extreemly sharp. Ive still got the scar from one 10 years ago. Ive built temperary calf hutches with them. Bolt two 2x4 together with the panel sandwiched in between. It will be sturdy and give you more area to staple the covering on.

we have three hoop houses and you'll not be able to brace them if the panels are on the inside. there you go.

i should clarify my last post...the corners should be braced, and if the cattle panels were in the inside, you would not be able to do so.

i have the schematics for hoop houses and know lots of 'tricks' to build them faster, easier etc. pm anytime for help or the plans.

We built a "hoop coop" and framed it out of angle iron. We put the panels inside. We had never seen pictures of hoop coops before we built this coop. We've recently built another one and used a lighter weight iron. The 1st one is HEAVY!! Gosh thought we had a great idea...LOL I can post pictures if y'all want. I'll see if I can figure out how.

If you search hoop coop, you'll probably see lots of pics. Basically you make a round topped shed by making arches of cattle panels, or pvc pipe covered with chicken wire and or tarps.They can be made movable, or permanent depending on how heavy they are and how you fasten it all together. Most are bent and fastened to rectangular ground frame.

Ah... I see. When I hear cattle panel I think of the huge steel type ones. Nothing portable about them.

I would love to know the "tricks".
