I'm considering building an 6X10 hoop run. Approximately what would the center height be if I use the 16' cattle panels? Anyone with hoop run experience?

If you make it 10 feet wide and curve it evenly it will be 5 feet high in the center. Two panels give you a 10x 8+ run. The panels I get are a little over 4 ft. wide.

We bought a hoop bender from e-bay. The hoops are 14' wide and about 6'tall. We used chickenwire/hardware cloth instead of the cattle panels and tarp all for winter, just the roof for summer. Built it on PVC pipe so it can easily be moved with a 4-wheeler or vehicle. Two people can also push it sideways. We leave it in the same place most of the time as the chickens free range all daylight hours and have cattle panels cut in half lengthwise driven into the ground to prevent predators from digging their way in. They are also easy to lift up and move.

I think I'll use 2 panels and make it 8X8...should give me a center height of about 6' or so. I only have 6 chooks so that should be enough run.

OK! If you build a run that is 6 feet wide by 10 feet long and use 16 ft panels hooped over top, your center height will be just over 7 feet. I'm totally sure this time, just had to check my algebra.

If you choose the 8x8ft option, you only lose about 6-8 inches in height.

Nurse_turtle-Thanks! A 6X10 it is! I'm 6'-2" and too old to be inside a run all bent over. I never was great at algebra...lol
