Are Naked Necks (Turkens) from Hoover Hatchery pure? Or do they mix them with other breeds and, given that the naked neck genes are dominant, just call the Naked Necks?

I have gotten some from them. Mostly they are buffy red or blackish. Those are not recognized show colors. I do not believe they are "pure". All mine had bow ties. They are still nice chickens.

I got mine from an in-law. She had 2 NN roosters, I don't know where from. The hens were all regular necks. I hatched out the eggs. I got 3 NN from that batch, and some regular chicks. The NN hens lay a blue egg. My avatar, is a NN frizzle from a different farm. She was shipped across the country. I had her, and a regular necked hen, and also a regular rooster. She lays a green egg.

Yea, I don’t believe they’re pure either. Unfortunately. I have one that I’d swear is a NN Delaware
