I thought my temp might've been low, but jeesh! I've just been keeping the eggs in the bator as a "just in case" thing, didn't really think they were alive. A friend came over yesterday and we chipped off some shell on the air cell, and lo and behold, a chick was moving against the membrane! So we patched the sucker up and stuck her back in there, and I was quite glad that at least one didn't die yet, even if they wouldn't hatch at all.
I get up this morning and go to check on the humidity and- chirps! Wheezy little chirps, but it definitely was coming from the incubator! There's a fighter in there!
Now she's stopped chirping, and whenever I go in the room I can tell my brain's trying to invent some chirps to keep me happy, and it's driving me a little crazy but... yes!
Now I'm wondering, if the little guy doesn't get to pipping by the evening, should I intervene? And if I were to, what would I do? Tick a little shell away by the edge of the air cell?
