Hoping for my dream job! (Chicken-related, actually.)

Congrats on the interview! And I hope you get it, I'm jealous that couldn't be me

Best of luck!

I was going to do work with poultry, but then I decided I enjoyed keeping them so much I could not give them up for work. Rules such as 10 days no contact with poultry prior to entering commercial facilities, and the risk of bringing something back are things to think about.

Vet assistants and technicians are in high demand in Alaska! You most certainly would NOT have to work for free up here.

Edited just to say, good luck on the job!

I don't find out for another week or so if I get the job, I'll post when I know if I got it or not.

Everyone, thank you so much for your encouragement and good thoughts and hopes!

I got a call today, after having a second interview last week...

I got the job!

I'm so excited! I start next Tuesday. I'm ordering some chicken shirts in preparation. Handy for my new work, and for life in general.

I could not ask for a more perfect job for me, and I will love working at the sanctuary I'm sure. The people there are so nice, too, and it'll be wonderful to be able to talk to people with similar morals to mine! It's hard for me to believe I'm actually going to get paid for such a perfect activity doing something I love so much. Too wonderful! And I still can't believe that such a position appeared in my area, only a fifteen minute drive from my house. What are the chances?

Anyway, if anyone in northern California wants to adopt chickens, soon I will be the official person to contact!
