I only had 2 eggs today. My normal is 14.

I really dont want to play egg hunt. They have a full acre of field and yard they free range dawn to dusk. This is the not normal for them they have always returned to lay then went out to play when the deed was done.

This site does a much better job than I can about discussing all the reasons they may stop laying. You are there and can see clues that you would never think to mention.

Virginia Tech – Stopped Laying

Did they all return last night? My first thought is that one has gone broody somewhere in the field and they are laying in her nest. My other thoughts are either an egg predator, including possibly human, or an egg eater. And remember, they can molt at any time. All it takes is stress, like running out of water for a period of time.

Good luck.
