Horrified

My TSC wasn't like that. I just got chicks this week and they were fine, ducks and all. I agree that's not normal. I would lodge complaints higher and higher up on the chain until you get to someone who cares. If you're struggling to get high enough up on the chain I'd document it the best you can and then reach out to local news stations. Make sure you put the blame on higher management - the store employees lower on the rung probably don't have much to do with it. They're just minimum wage people doing what they're told.
regardless of what they are paid where are their hearts? Where is their common sense? Where is their decency? I was not impressed with our TSC but nothing like what the OP posted. Ours was overcrowded.

I walked into our farm store one time and caught the cashier kissing a 3 day old chick, So much respect for living creatures in that store its apsalutely wonderfull

The only way to help the future of animals is teaching children and young people respect for animals. People who mistreat animals are damaged indeviduals who themselves were either mistreated or uneducated

Respectfull breeding, Brooding, butchering and even responsible hunting.

When I worked at a pet store we were not allowed to give the animals extra care unless the management said we could.
Some people are under desperate circumstances and can't afford to lose their jobs or upset their bosses.
Don't take it out on people who are just trying to pay their bills and have no power.

I went and talked to the manager. He said they were just wet. When I told him that isn't the case, these are sickly ducks. I suggested at least giving all of them a bath to wash the feces off, which was causing extreme skin irritation.

He said they didn't have the time or means to do so. I replied that I will be willing to do it right now for them, which he rejected.

In the end, he said "What do you want me to do? I can't do anything about it."

That poor lame duck is still there. I wanted to take him but my husband won't let me, we could get in trouble with the city and I'll get too attached.

Absolutely report them to local animal control. This is disgusting. These babies must be so uncomfortable.

If Corporate does not respond, I like the idea of calling local media. When we got flooded a few years back, my wife called about the cable company wanting to charge us for the cable boxes lost in the flood. They changed their tune real quick. The reporter wanted to talk to her anyway because their was an issue about the city not picking up the trash and materials from our neighborhood but the rich neighborhood a mile away was getting excellent service. After the report aired our neighborhood was cleaned up the next day. Media makes a difference. Glad we don’t live in town anymore. I will not go to our closest of 5 TSC because of the neglect of chicks and ducklings.

You should go to that TSC - with a couple of reporters with cameras.

I plan to visit again on Monday to see if anything changes. However, someone just suggested to me that the regional manager may handle this is a way I wouldn't like. Like putting them down.

They wouldn't do that would they?! I am panicking now. Did I condemn them to death?

This is a TS in Columbia, SC.

Nah, they wouldn't kill them all. It's not like they have stuff there to quickly euthanize them all, and I really doubt they'd take a whole tub of ducklings out back to kill them one at a time. Plus, they still want to sell them. And you'd have to find an employee willing to kill them all.

No, I think they'll be told that they need to clean them up, take better care of them going forward, and probably to make a hospital bin for the back and to give away the ones that aren't doing well.
