horror movies too scary or gross and you didn't like

I hate bloody, gory movies. The hills have eyes pops into my head right off, as does the movie Jeepers Creepers. I also don't like 'low budget' movies, at least those that look low budget. I've never seen any of the saw movies, but I doubt I'd like those either.

Actually, there aren't really all that many horror movies that I do like, but bloody, gory movies take the cake.

Ok, I'll throw this out there and see if anyone else ever saw a movie called It's Alive? It came out in the 70s. It was about a baby that a couple had and it was scary deformed. The thing traveled through the sewers to the nursery and the mother loved it, but it went out and killed the general public at night, It had forked fingers and fanged teeth and all you saw was the black nursery cradle. I went with friends when I was in 7th grade and I have never been able to forget how much it scared me but how dumb it was. Anyone remember it?

Saw, Hostel, hate those types. I prefer the movies with ghosts, vampires, etc. because those creatures don't exist, so when the movie is over you can calm yourself with a good dose of rationalism. When it comes to movies like Saw, though, well, that's basically about some nut getting kicks hurting people . . . and that is something that is all too grounded in reality.

I recently saw Zombieland, and I must say, that is my kind of horror film. Gruesome, yet insanely hilarious.

Predator and Alien gave me nightmares.

And a movie with really big ants. I was real little then, though. Captainn Kangaroo scared me then. All hairy.

this will sound silly, b ut the movie that scared me the most was Jurassic Park. the first one. i read the book as well so i would have nightmares that were a combo of both.

I don't like torture movies either. I admit to watching them, but rarely all of the way through.

My fav's are supernatural type scary movies. White Noise was a favorite. We watched it at home with the surround sound turned up really loud! It had me and my husband hooked from the beginning.

Has anyone seen Paranormal Activity? I wanted to go this weekend but it doesn't look like we are. Austin was one of the screening cities before wide realease but the commercial for it doesn't look that good....just audience reactions....
