Also if you noticed Desperados Majik has the same granddam on both sides. You might not want to breed to a mare that's double bred with that same horse like that but then again it might work too. Linebreeding is definitely a thing that can work for you if done correctly, but it can also magnify negative traits just like the positive ones you're after.

Mira's biggest fault is her tail. It's set really low on her butt (for an arab at least). Her biggest PLUS is her temperament.

Would you do a live breeding? I plan to have Khiss AI'd whenever I get to that point. One thing I did notice about Majik is that his head isn't quite as pretty as I like but he's still young too. I'd like to see some conformation pictures of him and a video of him moving out naturally that's not in slow motion. I really like his breeding and I'm definitely going to keep him in mind for future consideration!

I'm still learning about the big names in the Arabian world myself. I'm lucky enough to have an outstanding mentor that I run everything by before I jump into something. One thing I have learned is that it pays to find what's going to work for You personally and not just what looks flashy or is charismatic. Khiss has an impeccable temperament that meshes very well with my own. Of my two little sisters the one who is temperamented like me loves her as well and Khiss is fascinated with her. The other one Khiss refuses to have anything to do with. Incidentally the second one is quite aggressive and gets a long better with a horse thats more dominant and challenging rather than a sensitive horse that can be reactive if too much pressure is applied. Its all about finding the bloodline and type that's right for you.

Maybe, but i'm not sure yet. I'm sure she'd like to go without another cross country trailer ride if she could help it.

I like how his head isn't super refined personally. I'm not a huge fan of dainty horses. All of mine (cept one of my first) have been super easy keepers that didn't need very much maintenance. In my head (granted I'm a total blondie. XD), a super refined head = egyptian, and i do NOT care for straight egyptians.

Breeding them would be completely fine! Line breeding can be a good thing, and they're not that closely related. In my case, I love Mr.Gunsmoke and he's June's great grandsire, and I'd have no problem breeding her to a Gunsmoke or double Gunsmoke bred stud. As long as you don't breed to the horses own sire or grandsire, you should be fine (although some people will breed a horse to its grandsire and it can be done successfully). If you wanna see a whole bunch of really closely line bred horses, you can look up pretty much any blue roan Hancock bred quarter horse and take a look at its pedigree lol.

What about Desperados tail? Is it too low or is it correct?
Even if his tail is high enough, or if you bred her to an appy or QH or paint, you could still get a foal with a low set tail since that's how hers is, you're never guaranteed to breed something out of a horse. And you don't want to try to breed to a horse who's tail is set too high to try and compensate, because then the babies tail will either be too high or too low, and probably not correct. Just find a good stud who has a correctly set tail and hope for the best.
But I don't think that's too bad of a fault, especially if it's her only one! And to a non Arabian person, I can't really see what you mean when I look at her lol

My thought, when I looked at those two pedigrees, is that any foal out of that cross would actually be less line bred than the parents are. I'm not quite sure how the percentages would work out (and I'm too lazy to do the math) but just looking at it, that's the impression I got - I'd be more concerned about what's on/in the horse than what's on the pedigrees with those two. Now, if there was some horrible defect in the family (like HYPP in the Impressive Quarter Horse line), then the more times a name comes up anywhere, the more chances you have of it getting passed on, but other than that, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm more worried about why they bred half siblings together to get desperado? Or why aswan (i thinl that's his name) is in hers so much? Is that common in the horse or Arabian world?

I think it's pretty common, I have an Arabian that has the same name 2 times in his papers, but they're all the way back at the last line. We had another one at the barn that had the same name in his papers about 5 times.... Now, mine is the better quality horse than the more inbred one, but that may not have had anything to do with the inbreeding.

Just look at these papers for example, Hancock and Blue Valentine on both sides. This is a stallion at stud and I'm gonna take a wild guess and say at least half the mares he's breeding are Hancock and/or Blue Valentine bred.
Oh, and just take a guess what color he is.

Wow I had no idea it was so prevalent in horses! Cause I think in dogs they discourage it or don't do it often? I could see breeding horses with the same names way back, like grandparents or great grandparents, etc. But half siblings?

Well not half siblings, if I'm reading right anyway, it's a son of Blue Valentine bred to a granddaughter. Which is what I've considered doing with my mare and the Khemosabi line.

I raise Nigerian Dwarf goats and Nubians and close linebreeding is Very common. The animals I've purchased that are that way have been very well bred and exceptional animals. The breeder was highly experienced tho and knew her lines and how theyd mesh like the back of her hand.

His tail is fine. His hindquarters are really well rounded, which kinda makes it look more low set, but I just love everything about him.
