Horses slaughtered in FL?

This has been going on for acouple months now.I really hope they can bust up the people that are doing this to peoples COMPANIONS thats just sick.

If you want to kill your horses to eat then by all means go for it. I don't mind any animal being slaughtered for food as long as they are humanly slaughtered. Horses are food for lots of countries. Cows can be companions too along with chickens but they are also food to others.

I have been anti slaughter because of the methods used to slaughter horses. There are plants that slaughter them humanly but anyone stringing up a horse while it is still alert bleeding to death thrashing about should be shut down asap IMO. So, I am all for eating a horse if that is what you like and I would not hesitate to eat one if I were starving but for the most part due to methods used I have to remain against it and I am glad they shut down slaughter plants here but that only means they are transported in very inhumane conditions without food or water packed in trailers before being sent across the border to be slaughtered.

So, I really don't have a problem with it as long as someone is using them for food and slaughtering them in a proper way.

eta- I am only talking about horses that you own yourself for this - to steal a horse and kill it is just wrong. That would be very devastating! I would be so furious that I would probably end up in jail over that if it had been a horse of mine! I hope they get to the bottom of that!

(I, too, don't have a problem with humanly slaughtering horses that would otherwise starve to death-but this was a pet!)

Oh my! You would have to be a horrible, selfish person to slaughter someone's pet! What is sad is, I don't know about Miami, but around here you can buy horses...even good horses...for less than $500. I've seen several desperate people giving their horses away because they simply can't afford to feed them. I hate the idea of any horse being slaughtered, especially inhumanely, but it makes it a hundred times worse when it is someone's beloved pet. I certainly hope they get caught and punished to the fullest extent of the law!
