I've yet to find a hose reel that doesn't get tangled or isn't sturdy enough to handle our 100' hose. The stuff at HD, Lowe's, etc. just isn't heavy duty enough. What do you use to keep your hoses under control and out of the way?

Ditto RMT. I need 200' of hose to get to the back end of my garden. I snake it around the corner of the house, lay it up against the footing of the deck, then can go to the garden, or the chicken coops with it, and have to go the opposite direction for the orchard. When hubby mows, we coil the last 100' or so over the last post on the deck steps. Not at all convenient, but it beats constantly coiling 200' of hose.

BTW, I love the canvas covered shrinky hoses. They are so very light weight. But, I hadn't used mine for 2 weeks before it sprung 2 leaks. Total waste of money, and to my knowledge, they can't be repaired. But we have repeatedly repaired the standard style hoses.

I have multiple spiggots so I have one 125 ft hose and one 100 ft right now. Since there's no HOA :p to tell me to put them away, the hoses usually end up wherever I last used them. I do try to keep them pushed somewhat out of the way so no one trips over them or mows over them but most of time they're lying around like snakes on gravel.

I'd heard that about those expanding type hoses so I've never tried them before. I like the idea, but I'll take durability with a little extra weight over something that just won't hold up.

My previous residence had an HOA. The rule for hoses was they must be in a reel at all times, and they must have some sort of nozzle attached to the end. Of all the nitpicky things to govern!
