Hot, infected mass below hen's vent

I have a New Hampshire Red with a hot, infected moldy looking mass below her vent. She is soaking in Epsom salt but it looks very infected! Please help. I'm new to chicken keeping.

How long has this been her condition?
What does her poop look like?
Is she currently laying?
If not, when did she last lay an egg?
Have her eggs ever been thin shelled or shell less?

She appears to be molting. How is her appetite?
How is her behavior?
Is she normal and active?
Or is she quiet and withdrawn, tail held low and flat?

Sorry I wrote it so quick because I was trying to get her in the bath! The area is very hot. I tried to lance it and nothing came out.

How is her behavior? normal- she was very calm and I held her rear under the warm running tap and she liked it.
Is she normal and active?
Or is she quiet and withdrawn, tail held low and flat? No- she is normal and alert

Do you happen to have an oral antibiotic on hand? Judging from her normal behavior and appetite, she may have an early stage reproductive tract infection. Getting it early could result in a cure, whereas left alone, it usually spreads and then becomes impossible to treat.

Let us know what the vet says. Does she get lots of treats/snacks? I’m wondering if it could just be a fatty deposit where the skin has been been irritated by her droppings.

Just got back from the vet and he agreed with @azygous - an infection of her cloaca. Thank you so much!!! I am very grateful. She is on antibiotics and seems more comfortable.

You can't put a price on peace of mind. You're so fortunate to have a vet that will treat chickens. I hope the vet agreed that the infection is early stage and she should make a full recovery.

did she make a full recovery? I have one that I discovered 2 days ago and just called the local feed store and they don't sell antibiotics.
