Hot weather, how to keep them cool?

I have two ducks, and two geese. This weekend we are getting really high temps for where I live, enough that I don’t even want to walk outside. They have two pools and fresh water all day, is there anything else I can do for them just so they aren’t miserable? Or will the pools be fine?

Also what are some good snacks for the geese and ducks?

I put ice cubes (which melt quickly) with frozen peas and blueberries out.
Fresh cool water in all containers at least twice a day.
Offered frozen corn on the cob today.
Make sure they have shade.
They like watermelon too.

Our ducks really love the sprinkler. I put it out for about a half hour a couple times a day. The Pekin really love the sprinkler and just sit there in the spray biting the stream of water.

Mine are scaredy cats, they hate the hose when I fill their pools, but I’m going to try the sprinkler and see how they react to it.

I use an old fashioned metal sprinkler like this:


I bought this one because eight kids break plastic things faster than metal things.
