Hot Wire Fail, help!

For starters, the hot wire is connected to ground. Green goes to ground, red goes to the fence.

Very perceptive! I had to go look at one of mine. It's been so long since we wired them.

Red is hot and green is ground

Yup I was looking at that thinking red is hot!

In general when there's any issue, disconnect all and test at the fencer.

Troubleshooting summary:

• Inferior ground wire.
• Box wired backwards.
• Strap touching t post/fencing/wood

Recommendation:
Start over from square one.
