I went to the Northeast Bird Fanciers Show this morning. Not a single Houdan. This just has to change. I did see this though...



A Mottled D'Anvers. I had never seen one and it reminded me of the Houdans. This one specimen and the Mottled Javas were the only mottled birds there.

Skittles was very loud this weekend. She sounds just like my polish hen when she wants to lay an egg. It's a very unique voice. It makes me giggle every time. I just love the sound of a hen whining to lay an egg. I think it will be any time now Here is Skittles with her brood mate.

I'm expecting an egg from my hen -A Level sometime this month. Its really up to her, but she is trying out all kinds of songs.
(The rooster is trying out all kinds of mating)

She's a great girl, but has the worst crest I've ever seen. Sometimes I think she's just pretending to be a Houdan...

Not a single Houdan at our Canadian Nationals

Will have to correct that in 2013. They are held locally next year. I have 4 pairs right now. Exactly 50/50 on the last ones I purchased. Skittles is still not laying.
