But the definitely can‘t control it for hours on end. (Well....broodies are an exception.)

I had a hen once that waited until I opened the pop door every morning she's race out and dropped a huge turd(and she wasn't broody). So possible but not common.

Chickens can’t hold their poop for hours. They poop around every 10-15 minutes. She’s not a dog.
And you just said you leave the door open. Now you say you manually take her out every few hours.

I never said all. But they all carry bacteria in their poop and since they poop every 15 minutes... well, I can just imagine what someone’s house must smell like if they keep a house chicken.
