house cleaning thread!

I've already cleaned out three drawers from my buffet...stuff I never use...always think I will. No, I won't its gone. I've already got a bunch of stuff in the car - going to Goodwill.

We moved to a much smaller house 6 years ago opted for more land so we could keep goats & horses. This house has very little storage. That is my biggest issue. So, if I don't use it daily/weekly I'm tossing it. I've been wanting to toss stuff for a while...just felt so guilty. I'm always worried about wasting money. I mean I'm giving up cookware that I don't use. Linens that I may use every three years at Christmas. It all takes up more space than I have! I can't stand it a minute longer.

I put my collection of painted ponies on CL last week...I've been feeling this coming on for several days.

You go girl! You're not wasting money by de-cluttering. Think of it as stream-lining, downsizing and getting strong and efficient. You won't want to bring home more "stuff" and that should save you money in the long run.

well i have cleaned the master bathroom.. 2 loads of dishes done.. 2 loads of laundry done.... and half of the kitchen is swept and mopped.. its slowly coming together ... i hope!

BTW its killing me to be inside cleaning its 65 outside today! GAH! im also trying to teach myself to organize.. its so awesome that so many are joining me!!!! WOOT!

I swept the living room and have a load in the dishwasher. About to start the washer. I also like to cook a bunch of meals on Saturday so we have ready lunches for the week.

It is yucky outside, so domestic goddess time is a good idea...no matter how much I hate it

TipsyDog...you are a genius! I never thought of that. It will save me money!

I just got back from Goodwill run #1. Still going strong...But, it is a perfect day outside and I feel like I should be cleaning the barn!

Which is what I would rather be doing...must stay strong...must keep my focus...

Did the same thing.
Hand washed dishes.
all 4 loads of laundry.
.and tossing.

mopped the wood floors with cleaner.
and got half of the coops cleaned.
the other half will wait
till monday.
but have to fold sheets tonight.
watch a movie.

And here I thought I had done a lot!

Washed dishes
Hang clean cloths
Tend to the 2 frog cages
Tend to the red worm bin
Clean clutter on kitchen table
Tend to the chickens
Tend to the cats
Tend to the rabbit
Sweep back door area

OP, what a great thread! I need some accountability where my chores are concerned! Reading what others do...I'm not feeling that ambitious today but I do have a few things to do:

1)run dishwasher/put away dishes

2)1 load laundry

3)tend/play with chickens/goats

I need to spend some time with my kiddles today so I'm keeping it light.

I have a red, ultrasuede couch and a white, drooling boxer, as well as a fluffy white pomeranian.

Half my cleaning day is devoted to the couch; even though we try to keep up with it all week.
