Just wanted to address to the spinach this is Not good for the geese....
Thanks for that. I do have a list of what is toxic to waterfowl. I will pull it up and post it.

Too much iron I believe and that can block their systems up. I can not have it being on dialysis because it is too much potassium!

RURU...I just found this.
Ducky Foods to AvoidSome foods that you may think are good for your ducks and geese may actually be bad for them. Spinach is one of a few seemingly healthy treats that your ducks may love, but that should actually be avoided. Beneficial calcium that your hens need for their egg laying binds with the oxalic acid in spinach and is then removed from their system. Some other snacks that are high in oxalate and should be avoided are:
Beets, celery, collard greens, dandelion greens, eggplant, escarole, green beans, kale, leeks, okra, parsley, parsnips, peppers, pokeweed, popcorn, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, rhubarb, rutabagas, sorrel, squash, swiss chard, tomato sauce, turnip greens, watercress and yams.
That list is very controversial. It's been discussed in a previous thread (last year, I think). As far as I remember, it's from majesticsanctuary.com. They do seem somewhat fundamentalist about waterfowl - in the adoption contract you have to agree not to let the bird free range unsupervised or swim in open water.OY VEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not know there were this many. I would think if it affects hens, then it would also affect the bone density in both sexes since the oxalic acid zaps calcium. KALE AND CELERY TOO?!![]()

Someone posted on here last week looking for you about your goose. They lived in Michigan also.I've posted this in a separate thread, but figured it can't hurt to re-post it here. I'm looking for a great home for my goose - I'm in Michigan (east side). He's almost two months old, an Embden, healthy, and very well behaved. He has a diaper, and is very good about wearing it. I got guilted into taking a rejected, dying, day-old gosling but I really don't have the set-up to keep a goose. I don't want to return him to where he came from (not impressed with the conditions) and am hoping to find a "crazy goose person" who would like a friendly, well-behaved companion for their goose/geese. I've never been much of a bird person, but have to admit he's (she's?) converted me. If I had a house with a yard, I'd keep him in a second, and get another goose for his company! His name's Oberon (Shakespeare, not Bells) and my sister's written him a blog (Oberonthegoose.blogspot.com) so even if you don't want him, you might find it interesting. She's quite a bit behind, though... He's actually huge (and handsome) now, not cute and tiny anymore.
