Another question: is the red LED power light coming on when you plug it in? Check the plug between the fan/heater and the electronic thermostat, if it isn't.
Okay, i stuck a chop stick in and the fan turns fine. i was able to unscrew the fan section and everything looks okay in there. It's practically brand new. Still has that new incubator smell.
The part where you can toggle switch the thermostat setting is sealed closed, and i'm not sure i would know what to look for if i pried it open.
Where is the LED power light? i don't see one on the top of the incubator?
Mahonri-Thanks for your kind wishes. i hope i can figure it out, too. i'm still wondering if perhaps i don't have the right power supply.

What would have been less frustrating is if it would have occurred to me to make sure i had all the parts and it was working before i ordered hatching eggs. But noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, i had to do things backwards.
i actually did order a new power supply from GQF last week but it hasn't arrived yet. My hatching eggs did, though. i put them in my still air model. It just doesn't seem right that i (apparently) have an appropriate power cord and the right amp transformer and it's not working. Maybe when the dudes at Radio Shack checked the output on their volt meter it just measured that some voltage was coming out, but maybe not enough.
i really appreciate everyone's input. These hatching eggs were supposed to take my mind off my troubles, not add to them.

Yeah, I did roughly the same thing. When I decided to hatch some eggs I got everything out, started getting it all set up, then realized that the cord for the bator wasn't with the bator. After all the yard sales and packing over the summer, I was pretty sure I didn't have it anymore. At least until the new one arrived looking exactly the same as a power supply that I had thought went with a lamp I have.......no wonder the lamp wouldn't work.

The light is on the side of the thermostat housing, opposite of the fan unit. It lights up when the heating element is on. If should be on anytime the temperature is less then 100 or so. The only other simple problem I can think of is if the polarity of the plug that connects to the bator is wrong. Not likely, unless it was a homemade cord and someone screwed up. Sorry I couldn't help you get it runnung.
I get that, but at 3 amps it is drawing the same 25W as the heater !!!
The power supply is 3 amps@ 12 volts, for both the heater and the fan. So, if you say the heater is 25w, then the fan would only be 11w max. At approx. 1000w per HP, that would put the fan somewhere around 1/100 of an HP. Not much.
