I want to order the Hova-bator Genesis 1588...I'm looking on GQF website and I guess I don't understand the description. Does that model come with a fan installed ? Thanks

The 1588 does have a fan as well as preset (but adjustable) temperature. The newest 1588s are coming through with a digital readout on top which looks very nice.

FedEx says my 1588 comes in tomorrow!!! New to hatching so I'm sure I'll have many questions. Now where to find quail eggs locally. hmm..

I just got my Hovabator 1588 and have started some bobwhite quail eggs in it. I chose it because last year, hatching Guineas, I had a fair amount of heartache with my Little Giant cheapo incubator from Tractor Supply, which I bought as a newbie after finding some Guinea eggs in my pasture. I got hooked on hatching, but losing those little babies is difficult for me, and I believe that the "iffy" incubator played a role in some of the deaths. Anyway, I got a lot of advice on this site and did my research, and it seemed like the Hovabator 1588 got a lot of positive comments. I just set mine up....it's one of the new ones with the digital screen which shows the temp and humidity level, and the temp is set and regulates. I ordered it from a vendor on eBay, it was new, never used, and came with the turner and the quail racks for about $185. They even assembled it for me, it was all set up to go when I pulled it out of the box.

This is the one I have used the last coupla years to hatch ducks chickens quail and chukars it works really well I did add a computer fan and an automatic turner but hatch for a year hand turning

How are you liking your Hovabator ? I just ordered mine, haven't gotten it yet.

I really like it....so much less stress than the cheapo LG. Regulates temp GREAT. Humidity fluctuates and is a bit of an issue, but I'm guessing that's normal with smaller incubators. I candled yesterday at 10 days and out of my 55 BW Quail eggs, 41 are coming along nicely, the other 14 are not viable or are questionable.
