I sure can't argue that point.

'Specially since the line between the two is getting finer and finer and finer...

.

I would also argue that religion and politics have also served to civilize mankind. It's very easy to make pithy comments about both but without them, we would have total anarchy and would still be knocking women over their heads with clubs and dragging them back to our caves....

...er....wait....I'm with ya man!

I don't get it - I'm a church goer, but when I read stuff on here about devil worshipping and stuff that I wouldn't make a part of my life, I don't get my knickers in a twist. What makes some people so much more sensitive than others? I don't know.

but religion and politics in general have caused much more human misery and death.

No. Misunderstanding of them and what they are supposed to be has caused much suffering.
To quote the late Ricky Nelson, "You can't please everyone so you got to please yourself." I could quote someone much more important, but then, someone would be offended. (which, honestly, I'm not all that concerned about, but I, for one, would rather discuss chickens first here on BYC, then after that, maybe touch on other subjects, like an adult, not some kid who gets mad, then picks up his toys and goes home. You really dont want to see a list of things (even people, gasp!) that offends me here from day to day, and you might be surprised if you did; you wont hear me gripe about it here on BYC much, unless it involves animal cruelty/neglect or related subjects. I just try to ignore all that crud. So, that's my $2. The days of 2 cents are long gone.

LMAO

My daughter was saying something the other day about how if we were like spiders, we'd have total chaos because spiders don't have laws. So I asked her to think about the idea that laws don't actually STOP people from doing things, they just give us a punishment system for those who break them.......

she was like... why do you have to do that?

LMAO

I love you, Cynthia. To itsy bitsy pieces.

There's nothing on BYC that I cant get from 'ask.com" except friends and personalities. They are why I come here. I am truly amazed at the way so many people from different walks of life have gotten along here because of one common thread, the chicken. And I love it. Doesnt it seem like the addage 'one bad apple can ruin the whole barrel' is so true? Id rather see the bad apple removed than for everyone to quit showing who they are and what they believe in, whatever that may be, no matter how much it differs from my own views.

I hate to say it, but Christianity is not the only bad apple in here...and if it were banned then there would be alot of reprocussion...there are ALOT of other things on these message boards that can be seen as violations of rights and offenses. I think the Christains on here have been very good about letting others enjoy thier rights to free speach and what not
