How about a new thread for those of us in wheelchairs?

And I, for one, am grateful!

Edited to add:  I was just looking at the powered little kid's vehicles and I'm afraid I'm a little disappointed.  They all use pedals on the floor.  Kendra can't feel the floor - she has no nerves to her feet.  That's our biggest obstacle in physical therapy because she has no sense of where her feet are in relation to her body, so she can't feel that she has to flex her ankles and toes to maintain contact.  Doggone it!  Well, Ken's an electrician. I'll ask him about it later tonight.  Maybe he can figure out a way to rewire one for hand controls.  Does that sound do-able?
yes!

I have very little feeling in my right foot. as a kid a friend had one that was a motorcycle. To make it go you had to mash a pedal with your right foot. I remember racing around the house on that thing an it randomly stopping. I would look down to see my foot had moved off the pedal. I would have to watch to put it back but I was off again... I learned to know where my foot was without the feeling. 20 years later I was screaming around town on a real motorcycle where the brakes are controlled by a pedal the same place as the go pedal on that toy years ago...

All that pedal is is a 2 wire pressure switch. Nothing to it... Rewiring it to a hand control is within the skill set of most 10 year old boys.

Perchi I think it was the "get out of here," thread. I got accidentally deleted and I couldn't recall the title. Ozexpat was on it most of the time - right? He is also on 'Old folks home," and that's where I get to hear what he is still up too.
"Twisted humor," I think of it more as "humor with a twist," maybe of lemon.

I tend to see things in a different light.

PS just went to your profile and grabbed the name of that thread- whooppee now I am subscribed again. Why didn't I think of that sooner?

Hi all! Saw this page mentioned else where and came to check it out. My hubby has been in a chair for 40 yrs. I keep threatening to get a plow for the front and a mower deck for the back, but some silly engineers forgot to make the housings water/dust proof. Our coop is just an old shed that he can wheel into. I really didn't want it to be too accessible, as the chicken are my refuge.
