How bad is the H1N1?

My 8 year old daughter and 7 year old son have it. They have horrible coughs, and fevers. My daughter seems fine. My son is handling it a lot worse, fever as high as 103, body aches, and just looks miserable.

I will pray that they get better and that you dont get it!

Readers Digest says that when the H1N1 virus hits the lungs it does more damage than the normal seasonal flu. It sets the stage for the fluid and pneumonia to occur and quickly. I think if I had young children or teens I would have them take the vaccine. I have just taken the seasonal flu vaccine myself.
Children die more from it than the normal flu. Already this flu season more have died from it than in a normal long flu season. Something to think about. gloria Jean

I think it would depend on your immune system, any other issues, your age as this flu seems to affect young more than old. Also if you have ever had the swine flu before. Many of us in our fifties and older have had the swine flu and even though it may be a different strain our bodies will be more resilient to it.

Had it.

Missed A WEEK of school.

Dont have it anymore.

(It wasnt that bad...)

Some of my friends that had it (it went through our school) seemed to throw up CONSTANTLY.

So, I guess it depends....
