I just peeled some apples to make fried apples and wondered if the chickens can eat the peels. It seems a shame to waste them.

Yes they can..Also the seeds and other bits you do not use.

You may not want to feed too many apple seeds to anything. They contain cyanogenic glycosides - releasing cyanide during digestion. I don't suppose they would normally be eaten in lethal amounts but who knows how many a bored chicken would eat if a lot of seeds were around in the pen.
I've always felt pretty good about throwing away peelings from fruit that I was pretty sure had been sprayed with pesticides

I've read that a cup of seeds was reported to have killed some idiot . . .

I give my hens apple cores.

My chicken love the apples too. But you might have to be careful with the apple skin. People use a lot of chemical for the apples to keep the bugs away from them.

I am sure if the skin is washed and you don't feed a ton of the seeds you should be fine, when mine swarm to apples each bird only get's a taste.
