We think nothing of dispatching a fox for invading our space to feed its family. A native animal that is barely holding on in some of its native territory. We are responsible for disposing of the alpha predator - the wolf - for attacking our livestock but we want to coddle cats?
We accept the world as it is given to us. Many native species extinct or threatened and say what can we do? We all have the power to do our part. Plant or retain native habitat. If you own livestock. Protect them with fencing and secure housing. Don't attract and nurture vermin by leaving waste out for the taking. And if you own a cat, or heaven forbid own many, keep them in the house.
