We have a friend who is a retired postal worker. Not a mail carrier, he worked in the mail terminal where everything was sorted to go to the smaller post offices. He worked the night shift. Things would tend to drag come the wee morning hours. The workers would cheer up when a box of peeping chicks would come in. He couldn't explain it but all the workers would perk up!
He also told of a time when a box of pullets came in and their box popped open. What a time they had gathering up those girls! [IMG]

I know my chickens do a great time cheering me up.not long ago I was trying to save the life of a boxer puppy I took from a backyard breeder, we did not win that fight, after she passed I was very depressed and while my hubby buried her I sat in the run with my girls and ducks and watched them for awhile my younger girls all act so goofy when they chase after a bug it made me smile and laugh and for awhile I forgot all about how upset I was.
