How did I get so many chickens???

I am sure, that our gov. will have to do a study, on this addiction, spending $$ millions on it and still will not be able to figure out the formula.. It's chicken math--no need to fight it... It just happens..

Now see, I just need to get my DH onto this thread so he can see that my paltry little 12 is nothing! I came home with two new ones yesterday because I'd picked up one 7 week old but she was lonely and needed friends. Then I saw my human friend at a co-op where she'd just picked up a new baby which of course I thought was adorable but curses! Foiled again..my DH was with me so I couldn't sneak off and get one! lol I started with 5 a few weeks ago but somehow (even without a rooster) they're already multiplying....

That chicken math really gets ya sometimes! My hubby was the one that started us with chicks last year, but the obsession has taken me over. I had to go to my feed store today to get more chick starter and flock raiser and the girl that seems to always be there when I go in says "you need some more chicks, we have lots!" See, even the feed store girls know I can't resist!!

I actually didn't get any today, but only because I am getting Speckled Sussex on Wednesday and will probably end up with more than what I ordered.

I only wanted 4 . .... I'VE GOT 9!!!
Currently 2 cockerels , 1, pullet & 5 chicks.
Oh, how my plan went so wrong. My husband has started calling me the crazy chicken lady . We have the chicks I n the hallway of our tiny flat (big private garden though) because it's November. But they don't want to be in their brooder, they want to be IN YOUR FACE! !! FULL TIME !!! HI MUM, LOOK AT ME, TALK TO ME, CUDDLE MEEEEE!!!!
And I'm just like "No...Nooo.... Get down.... #&*$ OFF!
CHEEP. CHEEP CHEEP. CHEEEEP!

Ahhh , my babies :)

We only wanted a couple of chickens when we moved to the country a few years ago. Now I'm afraid to count! I really don't want to know how many I have. Sometimes they look like about 40. At treat time when they all come running, they look like at least 100! Of course there are 20 or so in the brooder and a dozen eggs in the incubator, but they don't count.
