How did I get these curly lacey feathers (Cochin)? NEW picts post # 1.

I also thought it looked like a small crest on top of her cute little noggin, and was wondering if that is just fluffy feathers because of their texture, or is it really a small crest? You should name her Filigree

I'll try to get some better pictures with some close ups of the feathers.
Maybe tomorrow, if it's not still 10 below zero! LOL

Really though, no one knows anything about this kind of feathering?

Actually both parents were blue Orpingtons - I didnt see this type of feathering on either one.

I got her (and 4 others) from a breeder here in WA state.
