How did I get these curly lacey feathers (Cochin)? NEW picts post # 1.

I also thought it looked like a small crest on top of her cute little noggin, and was wondering if that is just fluffy feathers because of their texture, or is it really a small crest? You should name her Filigree

Very fitting! I would've bought her too, cull pen or not - pretty coloring and very neat/interesting feathering

Actually both parents were blue Orpingtons - I didnt see this type of feathering on either one.

I got her (and 4 others) from a breeder here in WA state.

Thanks! I think she is very pretty, too. I have just never seen feathers like this before! It puzzles me. I do hope I can breed more like it .... that would be fun!

Oh she's cute! I wonder if that is a type of henny feathering? Cochins are soft-feathered- maybe that's the form the mutation takes on.
