How did you come up with your screen name?

piecemaker because i quilt and do mosaic glass windows so since i cut things up (fabric and glass) in to small pieces and put them back together the kids call it making pieces thus piecemaker

what a fun thread, i love reading how people come up with their screen names...
i chose doc_gonzo to honor my favorite author, hunter s thompson. he invented "gonzo journalism" a sort of stream of consciousness style of writing. hst is probably best known for his book "fear and loathing in las vegas" johnny depp starred in a movie by the same name and played hst in the movie. depp lived with thompson for months to learn all his strange manerisms and mumbling speach patern.
my avatar is a drawing by ralf steadman, one of thompson's best friends and illistrator of most of his books.
my wife dawn uses 419 after her name (her birthday), but since our motorcycle accident i've been teasing her and calling her "lefty".

I got my name while wracking my brain for a website that hasn't already been taken. I wanted Calico Skies and after finding out someone already used that settled on "Omni" (Latin for "all", since we raise, breed and grow practically everything) and "skies" to keep at least some of the Calico Skies name.

Mine is because I live on Bear Swamp Road and I'm female. The Bear Swamp gets lots of chuckles when I have to give my address. They always ask "Do you have any bears?" No, but we're kind of swampy in rainy season. There probably were bears here 150 years ago though.

I've been trying to think of a catchy chicken-related name, but haven't come up with one yet. The only survivor of a dog attack, my hen's name is "Bare-Butt", because that's how being on the bottom of the pecking order left her. She's now fully feathered and beautiful, Anyway, using her name-I just don't think it would work. I'll come up with something eventually. Maybe the when the new chicks I've ordered are in residence the old gray matter will kick in.
