How did you come up with your screen name?

Riley is the name of my first grandchild. When I was trying to figure out a good screen name, his name was the first I thought of because I am so proud to be his Granny!

My screen name, lifein1840, is because I taught living history classes for children at a historic site and portrayed the life of an 1840 farm wife. It was a perfect fit for me.

I decided to grow my own tomato plants from seed in my greenhouse. Because I could not find seed for one of my favorites, Lemon Boy, I did a google search. I found a great place that sells 500 varities of tomato seeds. They all looked so good I ended up with 24 varities.

Well, tomato seeds are very small, and surely they all wouldn't sprout, and of those that did sprout I would loose some, so I planted every seeds.

Some 800 tomato seedlings later I was busy (very busy) transplanting into 4" pots, which overflowed my greenhouse. I had to add on to my greenhouse (it is not 8 x 16).

I gave tomato plants to everyone who would take them: Friends, neighobrs, teachers at my granddaughter's school, the lady working at Burger King, the garden club, and complete strangers. I became known in my community as the tomato lady.

My real name is Viki

We have apple trees. Needless to say, in the autumn, we get hit a lot by falling apples. We also make wine with our apples and call it "Applefalls"; we put a Robert Frost quote on the back of each bottle pondering how many apples had to fall on Newton's head before he took the hint.
There are many times in life when we realize that we ought to be taking the hint, so to say. For me, getting chickens is one of those times.

Mine is pretty basic.

E- Edward (DH)
M- Melissa (me)
B- Brianna (DD1)
K- Kaitie (DD2)
M- Meghan (DD3)

That's my family... pretty much my whole life... right there in 5 letters. I have too many named animals to add them in there too.
