How did you come up with your screen name?

I was obsessing about when my 2 Dominique chicks would be available, and impulsively chose SleekDominique. Now, I wish I'd selected something more general. Someone could sue me for false advertising, because there is nothing sleek about me!

When I first signed up on the original backyard chickens site I sat and tried to think of something. I had about 8 chickens at the time, one was a beautiful white silkie. I tried to think about something silk, and I thought silk pajamas would be a cute play on silkie, so I chose silkie PJ's. This time around, when I signed up again, I somehow hit an extra key when registering, and an extra g got thrown in on the end. Oh well, my name is Gail, so I figured a G is OK.

Sometimes when he's annoyed with me about having sooo many chickens, he calls me 'Chicken Chucklehead' or 'Dipsy Doodledoo' --- some of the other nicknames are not-so-nice, lol.

My name came from my mother and nephews. I was "Auntie" Beth but my eldest of the youngest nephews couldn't say Auntie. Insead he said Titi. As a child my mother called me Bebbs or Bebbsy (for my name Beth) when I wasn't in trouble, which I often was-Ok Ok am. So when I was making a new screenname 10 years ago, My mom said TitiBebbs, and that's my story.

Funny I teach and the first project I assign is for my students to explain their names-not just the "meaning" but their story. I get some REALLY wild ones.

I don't really remember why I chose to change my screen name for the original BYC board, because I normally go by QueenB everywhere else. It was a nickname given to me by my best friend, who was making a play on my last initial, and I am the momma, after all!

I think I renamed myself to have something to do with chickens, because the other name seemed out of place for here. So I just took my last name and added 'chick' to it because I am a chick and chicks are what I raise. It also rolls off the tongue real nice.

Some of my closest friends call me by my last name anyway, so it wasn't a real stretch.

Yes, my last name is Bliss. The first time I met my husband I made the mistake of asking him, "Oh, as in 'ignorance is'?" and was promptly informed, "No, as in 'happiness is'!"
