How did you come up with your screen name?

Saltiena! My cat was named Salty - adopted him when I was 7, he was a runt turned away by his momma! He grew to be a huge ol' white tomcat who could stand on his hind legs with his front paws on the kitchen counter to survey what was being fixed for dinner... Once my daddy turned his back on the bass he had just cleaned and *snap!* - Salty had it! Dad was quite undone!

Salty died Christmas eve my senior year of college. I had just arrived home for the holidays and immediately went in to see him, he was purring loudly as always. Then went into the family room to see the folks, mom said Salty wasn't doing well. Turns out he had remained alive to say goodbye to me, he passed away maybe 15 minutes later.

I've had many cats over the years, but none can rival the intelligence and heart of Salty.

peacebird - the bird part is easy. Hubby initially dubbed me "chicken" 13 years ago because I wanted him to slow down in the turns on our tandem! Over the years we expanded it out to "bird" in general and as someone who believes that if war is the answer, you are asking the wrong question - peacebird seems an apt fit.

peace!

M.J :

M.J stands for my first name and middle i was given my middle name after my grand mother jean and first name melissa

I'm MJ too. Mary from my grand mother who always spelled it Marye even though that wasn't how it was spelled on her birth cert. (I spell mine Marye too because I loved her so much.) My daughter's "e" is legal and everything. Then Jeanne from her father who was Eugene.
Anyway, hello MJ.

I love when names are passed down from one generation to the next. My middle name is Ann. So is my mother's although she uses it for her first name. Her mother went by Anna, although her name was Marianna. Her mother (my g-grandma) changed her name often (LOL, but that's another story) but I thought Ann/a wasn't one of her pseudonyms until I found her in the 1901 Canadian census listed as. . . . Anna! My daughter's middle name is also Ann, as is a niece's. I love sharing with my daughter all the great Ann/a's from which she descends.

Well lets see my first name is Ed. I am originally from NYC but moved here to Alabama. Hence the picking of a college team in order to get into the state I chose Bama over Auburn. And the #2 just stuck over the years because without a # I could never get that user name. So edbama2

This is my first post on this board. I post occasionally on ez. This is a great thread.

I rescued a kitten that barely had its eyes open in 1991. He'd fallen off a roof next to the museum where I worked. I had two other cats, the oldest didn't want to have anything to do with him, but the younger one became a surrogate mom (he was a boy). We had trouble finding a name for him until one day when he was all teeth and claws. So I called him Jausenclaus (jawsnclaws), or Count von Jausenclaus (yowsenclowse). So, since its pretty original, I use it for my name. He died in 2005. You can see his story at my blog in August 2005.

Everyone is dying to know how I got my name. A few years back when I first started, it was right after watching the wizard of oz. All the good names were taken, so I thought of flying monkey from the wiz of oz. Then I thought it wasnt exciting enough so I added poop because monkeys are known for throwing poop. So, thats how flyingmonkeypoop became my user name. My real name is Mike.

Wow! 13 pages! I'll have to free up some time to read all of these!
Bea was our imaginary roommate in college. Chickbea just sounded good to me (although I don't particularly like chickpeas...)

I wish my screen name was more imaginative, but I did create my account in the middle of the night while sleep deprived. So I went the 'J-Lo' route

J-Sto. Now I'm going to highly embarrass myself by saying "I'm still, I'm still Jessie with the flock." It's been a long day.
