How did you cook your first egg?

over medium---- I bought a hen that was already laying.....

BUT---think of this --> I was kidding my friends about 'bronzing' the first pullet egg, or mounting it on the wall or....

I ended up blowing the egg out of the shell and saving the shell -- as a reminder of how she started. It's preserved!

I blew out the first eggs of each hen. The first is olive green and really small, and I still have it today.

I will probabbly blow out the first egg too. I may even hang it from a string and hang it from my reirview mirror like some people do with baby shoes:)

MMMMM, fried over medium is my favorite!!! I like just a little bit of runny to dab my toast in, but not much. Mostly soft cooked yolk.

Best if you cook some bacon first, and then cook the eggs in the bacon grease. Take a spatula and sorta flick the bacon grease over the top of the egg and it will cook the white on top.

I read somewhere today about cutting a circle out of the middle of a slice of bread - and then frying the bread - with an egg in the circle - in some butter. It sounded so good that I did that for my dinner tonight. It was WONDERFUL! I love having breakfast for dinner. So when I finally get the first egg from my pullets - that's how I plan to prepare it.

My grandpa used to do that & everytime my mom made them she called them "grandaddys eggs." She uses a glass for the circle or for holidays she would use a cookie cutter on the bread. Oh, so many memories:)
