I have a mutt that we named Blue. She has gotten picked on a lot and has had to be treated with Blue kote often. She is mostly white so it really shows.
So whats your story?

Jezebel was originally named Patty, as in Fatty Patty. However, Patty is also my DH's ex wifes name. He disliked hearing the ex's name all the time, so he asked me to change the hen's name. I changed it to Jezebel. DH's response? I asked you to change it to something that didn't remind me of the ex!

my son named ours and he is 6. we only have 4 hens (and now 3 silkie chicks 3 days old)We got 2 to start with and he came up with the names Fiffie and Darna( don't know where he got these 2 names from) and then about a week later we got another 2 pullets and he named them Dipsy and Lala he said they are cute like teletubbies lol. We haven't named the chicks yet but I think I'll let him name these as well.

The neighbor children were down along with their friends. All under 10 years old - they named our new babies - Tebow, Shimmer, Sunny, Sparkle, Kit Kat, Rusty and the twins Carleigh and Tarin. We have twin girls down the street and guess what their names are?! I am loving this chicken business!

Roxie = white rock
Chippy = chipmunk EE, named by my 6 year old
Stripes- GLW was striped as a chick- named by my 6 year old
EE with really puffy cheeks - Puff
The last three- I was half asleep and decided to name them
Betty- Black Australorpe
Wilma- Reddish EE
Pebbles- ginger and grey EE

flat stanley got his name because when I went to water my chicks I accidently sat my one gallon waterer on top of him and about an hour or so I went to check on them I noticed one was missing and something told me to look under the waterer so I did and there he was...he is now 10 weeks old and crowing

Screech = Dutch bantam Rooster that has always been very vocal and used to screech at me constantly. He loves his treats and insisted in getting them first. He now gives them all away.
Chitter Butt = Bantam Cochin Rooster that just won't be quiet. Always chittering about something/nothing.
Dot Man = The first bantam I ever had. He was raised with standard birds and was just a little dot running in the brooder with them. He will be 6 May, 2010.
Snickers = bantam mutt that looks like a combination of chocolate, caramel, and nougat. From Snicks I have Peanut, Nougat, and Caramel. Snicks died over a year ago.
Oreo, Lil Oreo, Baby Oreo = Mother, daughter, grandaughter that are all black and white. Oreo is also Snicks' mother and Dot is the daddy of all expect Oreo who was killed 3 years ago.

Fussy = bantam cochin hen that complains alot
Pockets = Fussy's twin sister. When she was little mom would carry her around in her pocket.
Little Wing = Dutch Cockerel that was all wings before the rest of his body feathered and he growed up.
Dolly = first bantam cochin was just a little doll
Sissy = Dolly's sister

Noel = Standard Black Cochin that I got a month before Christmas, full name is Merry Noel.
Nicky = Standard Splash Cochin I got 2 weeks after Noel, full name was Santa Nicholas. Died 2 years ago
Jerry = Standard Black Cochin that I bought from Beth and Jerry smith of starcochins.com.

These 3 sisters where in a brooder that I closed up too tight that winter. All the chicks were suffering from hypoxia and gasping for breath by morning. All survived, but have some "quirks".
*High-Speed = won't take 2 steps with out taking off running
*Head-On = Runs with her head down. Has run into several things
*Collision = Runs and walks as tall as she can get with her head up high. Has a tendency to trip and run into things.

Friendly was also raised with the EE sisters and was extremely Friendly when growing up.
Baby Blue = Blue Ameraucana Pullet that is a pale blue color.

I will stop there. I have 89 birds and all have names. I also have a list of names in my head and on my computer of those that are gone and those names will never be repeated, at least not exactly.

Instead of using the B word my mom always called women "Old Biddies" so I decided that my biddies should have old-fashioned names. Stella, Miss Scarlet, Rose, Hazel and Dottie.
I also have one named Lil' Chica. We had two Salmon Faverolles named Lucy and Ethel. One died and one got very sick and almost died. Since I wasn't sure who died and who lived and I didn't want a Lucy without an Ethel I decided to re-name the little sick one. I started out calling her little chicky and that just turned into Lil Chica. Happily she's healthy now although she's only about 1/2 the size of the other girls. That's her in my avatar.
