How did your flock annoy you today?

SMH. Bad enough we sleep above the window and poop on everything but an egg!? I'm seriously impressed it stayed there. Not sure how long it was there, it was very discolored. Tossed that bad boy straight into the woods.

The phase of calling someone "Chicken" is so very incorrect and your chicken proved that...chickens are just super power, your chicken laid an egg in such small space and she poops breakfast...can any human do that??:lau

This morning I found an egg held only by membrane and no shell. I am tired, and disappointed at this ongoing saga of no shell egg.

Today I will be waiting to see who is laying egg to identify who done that no shell egg.

The suspects are: Silver laced Wyandotte - Goldie and Bantam Australorp - Sunny. They both laid solid firm good shell eggs just last week, why this issue now?

If those two lay egg today, then it will be my Minty hen...she is on birth control and it might be wearing off...:he

This is way better than the oven mitts I was going to buy!
My husband made a feed scoop out of a gallon milk jug. But it's really too flimsy to hold any significant amount of feed. But it is perfect for my schizochicknic broody, Ellis. She is a petite 4.5 lbs. but she packs a punch! The gallon jug was the perfect size to "scoop" her to the back of the nest box [one of those grey plastic ones that you can screw into your coop] so I could check her eggs this last go round. Since it's semi translucent, she would try to peck me through the jug which stopped her from trying to get out and around the jug. So... I finally solved the "how to check Ellis's eggs without potentially losing a limb" problem.

But to keep things interesting, she's decided to go broody in my outdoor brooder. The set up is entirely different and the gallon jug scoop won't work in there. Tonight is my first candling night, and I have no clue how I'm going to manage this. She is literally the scariest bird I own.
