How did your flock annoy you today?

I wonder about Pippin's level of intelligence at times. He ran out of the brooder tent yesterday and then panicked extensively when he couldn't get back in.
Most chicks I had showed the same stupidity. When they can see through, they suppose they can walk through.

The clever ones try something else after a while. Next time the smart ones try to go through once or twice but remember quickly where the door is

I had two older Dutch hens (pyle mother and daughter) who never understood. Blonds 👱‍♀️👱‍♀️ :gig

Good Morning. I let my flock out and when I turned around I saw 2 hens all puff up pecking through the dividing fence pecking back at them is my older hen Big Mouth. So 2 gaining up on 1 elder....grrr.. I picked up my BM, put her close my chest and her head under my chin while the other 2 looked on, they still puff up, making aggressive sound, but slowly walked away from the nasty scene.

I hope they both get it now that Big Mouth is boss. That 2 hens are my granddaughters, I love them to the moon and back ❤️

Mine seem to really like when I do this! I don't pick them up unless I have to, but if they're anxious, they seem to calm down. Must be like snuggling under a mother hen or something.

Yes, you are right, it is like snuggle up under mother hen. I have 2 hens that love to put their heads under my arm. I indulge them for 10 minutes, but they always want to stay longer.

She's so pretty!

Unfortunately it looks like I may lose one of Lavernes chicks. Very lethargic this morning and it just sits wherever it is placed and doesn't follow Mom just huddles there with eyes closed. It is now in my inside brooder getting some TLC. Laverne doesn't seem to notice she is missing one.
I’m sorry, Valkerie. That’s really unfortunate.
