How do all of you deal with future laws banning the ownership of chickens?

If a ban was presented it would be made public before being written into law. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and get involved in the situation. If nothing else, you could turn a "ban" into a number. Such as, no more than 3 chickens, no roosters. It could be, a certain amount of square footage for birds.

A federal or state level ban is unlikely enough it's not worth worrying over. Laws governing chickens are usually passed on a local level. If it stresses you out that it could be a possibility I can't recommend keeping an eye on local politics enough. Go to city or county board meetings if you can. Or read the local newspaper. Before the government can enact laws they have to be proposed and discussed. Board/council meetings are open to the public and members of the community are allowed to comment on proposals.

If they would ban chickens in the country it wouldn't really be the land of the free anymore, now would it? I would pack my bags and move somewhere better. Specifically Latin America.
