How do I convince my parents to let me get chickens?

We have two cocker spaniel dogs, both get on fine with the chickens.
The roosters will give them a peck if they get too close.
As long as there’s someone there to supervise when their out together they should be fine.

Here’s a video I found helpful.

As an Ohioan, I'm excited you're thinking about Buckeyes. I personally hadn't ever heard of them until this year. I have currently 2 Ameraucanas and 2 Orpingtons, but they're still inside because they're too young.

Before, in childhood, I had Easter Eggers and Silver Laced Wyandottes. I'm waiting until my current chickies grow up to decide my favorite breed.

My dog is a black lab (6 years) for all of you who are wondering!!:D He very friendly, but a big baby and always want to play. Will that be a problem??

The breed shouldn’t have anything to do with it, all Dogs have different personalities, behaviors and temperaments. My Cooper is very energetic and always wants to play too, as long as you’re there to supervise when they’re around eachother, they should be fine, never leave them together unsupervised though!

So, we have some bad news. Chickens aren't allowed in the city that I live in, but my family and I live right on the border of the city and town and they are allowed in the town. My dad knows the mayor, so he is going to try to convince him and everyone else who enforces this policy that if we can get all our neighbors approval then maybe we can get some chickens. My neighbors are all super nice, so I don't think convincing them will be a problem. My family owns 6 acres so we also have plenty of room, and I think we will have to keep them fenced up, so I'd build a BIG run! Wish me luck!! :fl:D
