I wasn’t sure because when I do put her to the food she will eat like she’s starving to death then drink forever then run around fast then go back
I wasn’t sure if she’d sit there and just starve herself

Sometimes you have to throw her off the nest the first couple times,
after she's settled in good for a few days,
then she'll do it herself.
Can be heard to tell if she's come off if she's in with the flock.
Another reason I like to segregate, I can easily see if she's been at the feeder.

Yep, mine does that too. I have never heard of a hen actually starving herself to death sitting on a clutch of eggs - people say it can happen, but I've never heard of a story where it actually did.

I can have a full waterer but if I put out a small dish of water, the chickens all go crazy drinking it up. doesn't matter that if they are broody or not. Keep us updated on how your hatch goes.
