How do I evacuate my chickens

We are going to put them I boxes probably. But should we do something about all the smoke?
Dog and cat crates. if none, laundry baskets with absolutely secure made-up lid.. if you have time, and you probably don’t, plastic tubs with large holes cut out and covered with screen or wire and duct taped. Wicker baskets with secureable lids.
GOOD LUCK. Got our hearts wrapped around you all!
OMG THANKYOU

Hey. We are thinking about you and hoping for the best. Please update when you can.

Mulling over your situation has reminded me that we all need to have a plan for emergencies. Even if it’s just for a rare trip to the vet, it pays to have a cat carrier on hand. If you have a cat, you’ll have a carrier, but if you don’t, it probably hasn’t occurred to you that one could come in handy. Of course, at best you can get two smallish birds in one carrier.

And where to go where chickens would be welcome? Personally, the thought of seven chickens loose in a motel bathroom is pretty amusing, but makes me consider having a to-go box ready with lots of newspaper, bottled water, some feed, nontoxic spray cleaner, rags, paper towels and, optimistically, some egg cartons. Then hope we never have to use it.

Prayers for you and your entire family. Don't know where you are, but I'm born and raised in California and we "evacuated" from fires a few times throughout my lifetime. Last year, we had enough and evacuated the state...crazy politics, high taxes and unending regulations drove us right out after 60 years. Our best to you.
This is in Marion county
