how do i feed my chicks

I bet if you read the back of the bag it will say something about it being for gamebirds. You could still use it as the first bag of feed and then switch over to the lower protein. Here's the feeding instructions from the Dumer 24% on the Tractor Supply website:

Feeding Instructions:
Feed free-choice as the sole ration to turkey, quail, pheasant and chukar chicks from 0 to 6 weeks of age. After 6 weeks, gradually transition birds to DuMOR chick Starter/Grower 20%

I don't feed the DuMor; I was just trying to point out to the person who did that it doesn't seem to CLEARLY say on the front that it's for gamebirds.

Sometimes, all the choices are a bit overwhelming. When I was first starting out, I quickly learned that even people who work at the chains that sell birds don't always know what they're talking about when it comes to feeding birds.

I was told at a Bomgaars that feeding my ducklings starter/grower for chicks was fine. And, it is, IF you also make sure they are getting enough niacin.

It's admirable that everyone here wants to do the best for their birds and is able to share information in positive, helpful ways. It's one of the many things I love on this site.
