ehhhhhhhhh, I still think it's a scam.

We want to inform you that a reservation remains thus until it is activated for flight taking off.Only then shall we be able to confirm flight details like tracking number, flight number, departure and landing time.

^This is a huge red flag. They are basically telling you they can't confirm anything until you've lost your money. Also, the syntax and style of the note are not professional or typical of the way a huge company like AA operates. Sentences like "the owner says," "show the delivery man," "there is a credit card information entered." What?

In addition, insurance is not refundable. The point of insurance is you pay for it, and it pays off if you need it. You don't get it back. I'll bet if you call AA, they know nothing about this. And she'll have an excuse for that.

Aren't you getting out your 10 foot pole yet? She's good. Close but no cigar. You don't want these birds. Know why? There are no birds.

That is a scam, 16 ways from nowhere. If you have made any payments, they are gone and you won't be seeing any birds.

Delete all messages, don't respond to anything. I mean really, GA to CA and they specify US dollars?

The whole thing reeks of scam. I do business online all day, every day and this is bogus.

I would walk away. Sounds like a scam...

Why would a perfect stranger in Georgia be so nice to sell you
not one, but TWO, birds for less than the price of one?

(I know people...and I don't trust most of them.)

SCAM!!

You could tell them you have a friend in GA that is willing to pick them up for you and would they please give you their address. LOL I bet they won't or it isn't their real address.

If they give you an address let me know, I'm in GA

Between 'We are however sorry to inform you that we only refund this money as cheques.' and references to payment in 'USD', I would say that the email didn't originate in the US.

Both USPS and airlines won't ship if temps are high anywhere between origination and destination. I was shipping a puppy from ND to RI and had trouble getting a spot because of temps.

I am really glad that you didn't send any money, if you want you can file a claim with IC3 (they are in partnership with the FBI). From their site http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx :

Q: Can I file a complaint if I have been defrauded of money or goods?
If you believe you are the victim of an Internet crime, or if you are aware of an attempted crime, you can file a complaint on our website. Be sure to include as much information as possible about yourself (i.e. name, email address, mailing address, etc.), the perpetrator, and the Internet crime that you are reporting in order to expedite your complaint.

If you want to, before you file the complaint you can say that you have a friend in GA who will inspect the birds (or pick them up for you) as previously suggested and see what the 'seller' says.

Good luck, and good job asking before sending money!

Hey animals, consider yourself lucky that you had this board to ask. Just the last two sentences of that letter screamed scam from someone in a foreign country trying to write like they could speak English properly. They certainly could not.

Just for fun I wrote a quick email to that address and not knowing who the heck I was, asked them where I should wire money for my pets. This was the INSTANT reply:

They look forward to reading from me? Notice I'm to wire money to Camaroon?

We were trying to rent a vacation home through Craigslist and there was a house that sounded too good to be true. There's your first clue. The guy sent us a copy of his drivers license and the whole bit. (turns out it was a guys picture from Florida who had lost his license that year.) All he wanted was a huge deposit and he would send us the keys to the house!!! It didn't feel right to me. We found the owners of the home online and called them. They were freaked because people had started driving by the house slowly. We called the cops and gave them all the info but they didn't seem too interested. I'm sure these guys are still out there looking for easy money. My particular scammer was from Nigeria.

Master thieves. I wonder how, but I bet they sleep pretty easily at night.
