Had half of my flock killed by two dogs, along with MY own dogs. Scratch that- my dogs only injured one of my babies. I was able to shoot one of the dogs-but that was it. How do I fix this problem? Will they be back?

Did it happen at night? If so, those little red blinking lights usually will do the trick. Haven't had a problem with dogs before, but lots with raccoons. Evil little stinkers. I feel ya!

Haha, it happened during the day. It makes me feel bad for shooting the dog because I realized it belonged to a few young kids.

Yes they will likely be back, plus your own dog lives there.

Can be remedied with a fence usually.

Sorry for your loss. :hugs
No need to be sorry, it's not your fault. Im glad a few chickens showed up after a while, I thought that I almost lost my roo. Had a fence between my dogs and the chickens. Might have to block off the rest of our acres haha

Their dog on their property is a pet. Their dog on your property is a predator! I would likely feel bad too, partly because I'm a dog person. But I am prepared to protect my animals and family.

Unfortunately domestic dogs are one of the biggest predators. Though yes we have raccoon and other varmints.

I've never really had a problem with raccoons, but foxes are terrible. Haven't had them recently, but I'm prepared for those. But to be honest, the owner of the dog said they would pay for the chooks I lost, but I refused. They would have enough on their plate with their own dog.
